About Jen

I’m a senior strategic executive with experience spanning private equity real estate, technology platforms, and portfolio-level growth initiatives.

My work focuses on firm-level strategy and execution: building platforms, partnerships, data products, and operating infrastructure that sit above individual deals and scale across portfolios.

I’m currently a Vice President at a real estate technology company, Grace Hill, and serve on the national ULI Technology and Real Estate Council, NAA Technology Council, and #NAAGives Council. Every week, I offer insights into real estate and technology via my newsletter and on LinkedIn.

Career Background

I began my career at PwC and often joke that I’m a “recovering accountant”. But in all seriousness, my CPA background taught me how businesses succeed, something I carried with me into private equity real estate at Pennybacker Capital. While in private equity real estate, I worked closely with our investment committees, led our technology committee, and collaborated with senior leadership on various portfolio strategies, fundraising and financial strategies, and investments and asset management. Over time, my responsibilities expanded into firm-level initiatives, improving how data was used, how decisions were made, and how the organization scaled across multiple investment strategies.

That shift toward platform-level work eventually led me into real estate technology. I cofounded and led a B2B data company serving institutional real estate investors and owners. I led product strategy, revenue, and execution. Today, I’m a Vice President at Grace Hill, a B2B SaaS real estate technology company, where I focus on partnerships, strategic initiatives, acquisitions, and new data products that sit at the center of customer value creation.

Across each role, the constant has been work that lives between strategy and execution — not asset-level operations, but firm- and portfolio-level leadership.

What I Actually Work On

Most of my work involves problems that don’t fit neatly into a single function.

That often includes:

  • Designing and launching new platforms, programs, or products

  • Translating data into decisions for executives and boards

  • Leading fundraising, revenue and partnership initiatives outside formal roles

  • Supporting acquisitions, integrations, and post-close execution

  • Acting as a thought partner to CEOs and senior leadership teams

I tend to be most effective in environments where clarity, structure, and cross-functional execution are needed — especially when an organization is scaling quickly.

Recognition, Speaking, and Professional Engagement

My work has been recognized across the finance, commercial and multifamily real estate, and technology communities, both for technical rigor and for the ability to communicate complex ideas at scale.

I’m a recipient of the Elijah Watt Sells Award, awarded to 39 of the top 92,000 CPA candidates nationwide, and I’ve been invited to speak at major industry forums, including the PREA National Conference, where I presented to an audience of more than 1,500 institutional real estate professionals.

In my current role, I regularly represent my company as a thought leader through:

  • moderator and panelist appearances,

  • executive webinars,

  • and data-driven industry presentations.

I also created and lead a Grace Hill LinkedIn newsletter focused on real estate insights and data analysis, growing it to 6,500+ subscribers in just over a year using insights derived from product and portfolio data. That work sits alongside my broader writing and analysis, which can be found on my Insights page.

Education & Industry Leadership

I hold a Master’s degree from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor’s degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from Southwestern University.

I previously served as Vice Chair of ULI’s National Technology and Real Estate Council and continue to serve as a member. I’m also a member of the National Apartment Association’s Technology Committee and the national council for #NAAGives, supporting initiatives across the broader real estate community.

Personal

I’m based in Austin, Texas, where I live with my husband, Kareem, and our Morkie, Teddy.
